After I experienced the sold out concert in Berlin in the comprehensive 17,000 people Wuhlheide, I can say convinced that we have completely internalized the plate.
Songs like "As I Please" and "Demons Galore" come - typical Beatsteaks - live simply 10x better, which one is capable of "listening dimensions" in completely different. Among other things, these two titles are instrumental seen true "on-your-face punk rock". This also includes: "Sharp, Cool & Collected", "Bad Brain" and "Solyanka". The majority of the album is so knüppeldick, you might think. By singer Arnim vocal melodies, the whole compensated however, so that the heaviest song is still a singalong thing.
In addition to the energetic songs still offers plenty of variety: The first single "Jane Became Insane" is a true dance track with catchy quality, however, is in my opinion rather entertaining. Therefore, the choice for the first single dropped out just right. New and good experiments as "What She Great" prove the value held in the offbeat song "Cut Off The Top", or rather trendy.
My personal favorites are, however, "Solyanka" and "EGO", from which one might think they were demanding: Until the very first concert (after "Limbo Messiah") in Cologne (1Live radio concert) neither the one nor the other played live.
Overall, "Limbo Messiah" - contrary to expectations - hardly comparable with the previously published and highly successful album "Smack Smash". There was a lot of 'rumprobiert - with a class result!
Which brings us to our next topic: the DVD.
First, one must say that "Demons Galore" was a glorious idea. Makes you really feel like the album.
A classic "Making Of" is not found here, however. Even I - a perennial Beatsteaksfan - was totally confused at the end. There you will find scenes that indeed made me laugh tears, are still played so well that we no longer know what to make of it.
Secretly remains in any case, whether the Beatsteaks take themselves and their own weaknesses and strengths through exaggerated manner to the arm or whether the whole thing is actually a single Verarsche. Everybody gets its character written on the body and living it fully in "Demons Galore" from. But see for yourself;) It is worthwhile in any case!
Conclusion: Keep it up!
