Lenny Kravitz says himself sometimes have schizophrenia crises and be "owned" by one of his idols (Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley and John Lennon); Moreover, critics have often criticized his side overflowing fan of his music (at the limit of plagiarism). Is it humility or lack of inspiration? It all depends on what makes us feel his music. Everything is a question of feeling. The origin of this very personal album resolutely came to Lenny, a day when he was watching TV (yes Stars also watch TV). He saw people being openly nostalgic for the time when America was not a black president. Lenny was born in 1963 (still well preserved) and his father (white) had reason to fear the reactions of others when he was walking with his wife (black) on the street. Lenny Kravitz wanted to make a record that speaks of his own experience. Black and White America is a gem. It is said that music soothes the soul. It is hoped that it allows to open up to others. Musically Speaking! This album contains 16 tracks representing over an hour of music and it's appreciated! The album is more funky and less rock than the last. He seems to have listened to the critics and have turned to contemporary music than on the past. Some love it, others cry foul. Anyway the duet with Jay Z, Boongie Drop, is excellent.
