Even if the handle for the 60 D (and I strongly suspect all the other (new) handles Canon?) Is no longer manufactured in Japan but in Taiwan, the quality advantage has remained on the competitors. Forms underneath screwed an almost perfect unity with the camera what the competitors now also well may be, but the large and significant difference in quality are the "rubber linings" (writing this in quotes, because I do not know if it rubber is actually) around the handle. Firstly, it is what is not surprising, the same as that used on the camera, which looks and feels (simply touches his valent as of other acts and not simply draufgepappt) makes a good impression and is also attached around! Competition handles (that I know) did not provide mostly behind only glossy black plastic instead of the dull "rubber". And there is quite a difference whether the palm upright rests on non-slip rubber or slipping on slippery plastic.
The immensely high price of the original (compared to competitors) into perspective by the clearly higher quality and pays the resale of again. For a used, well 3 years old Canon handle one still achieved over 50% of the price as a selling price (own experience). And my handle the 40D had after 3 years of use and little consideration almost new condition. Just hope this will also be true for this handle from Taiwan. After several months of use, and a few thousand photos still no use is visible, suggesting usual good workmanship.
