Changeless (Audio CD)

Customer Review

On "Changeless" are four pieces gathered, which has included the standards trio concerts in the US in October 1987. Each comes from a different concert, although "Changeless" total so acts as though the recording "of a piece". Unlike other reviewers, I do not consider that the pieces are continuously weaker. The highlights are clear to me "Endless" and "Lifeline", the tracks 2 & 3. But all four titles are fantastic and are among the best that Jarrett has published with Peacock and DeJohnette. So great, most live CDs are also with standards, a certain redundancy of recordings is often not be dismissed out of hand.
Not so with "Changeless": Here more dominant lines that we know of Jarrett's solo recordings here, especially those from the temporal environment of "Changeless". One is reminded of "Dark Intervals" and partly to the "Paris Concert". Especially in combination with DeJohnette on drums Jarrett developed mainly simple basic themes continue, vary them grandiose and thus caused "wavy" character of the recordings of the late eighties. Famos as playing just feel the lines of solo concerts that are realized here with the trio. Only the little too "restrained" by Peacock Bass carries too little in the organism of the sound, which is a shame.
Overall, a clear five Sterner!
