Vonnegut mixed history, satire and literature of different genres, like even science fiction. He finds clear words for the Nazi state. And he dares to approach to a very dark chapter: the bombing of Dresden by the Allies. Militarily, walked around, though of course Dresden had about stations and other strategic objectives. Crucially, however, that so many civilians qual- and senseless deaths. An American who writes about American atrocities - and, if I understood the book properly, without so much to judge the question of guilt, but rather to demonstrate how little mankind has evolved. It is enough to go around, we could work together - but instead we pile up grotesque and absurd events together.
A brilliant, yet very demanding, but also very stimulating written book!
