SingStar has been around for several generations Playstation, the first time I'm only now on the PS4 (only to the free version) come in contact and have to say: it inspires me. Of course I have carefully read the negative reviews here, but since I lack the comparison, I can only rate the game in its current form.
SingStar, there are both free on PSN, as well as a disc version. The free app has no content except for a demo song. Each title must be purchased for 1.29 euros. on the disc are on the other hand in front of around 30 tracks of different genre in German and English. Personally, I have a little too much the localized content. I would have liked more English-language tracks. Luckily, there are still the SingStar Store.
The menus are visually appealing held in a flat design and send animated. Tracks are presented with large background images and overall the operation is very fast and intuitive. Only the choice of the pieces to sing is somewhat convoluted and perhaps takes a little too long. For this, the load times are extremely short.
Not I know the old Singstar versions, but guess that singing the very same runs. You look at the music video, bottom of the screen, the text runs with a clay bar and sets the height and fills up when you hit the notes. Again, everything is animated nice again and you immediately get a feedback how well you sang the line of text. At the end you collect points which you raised his level. For me, not clear why, because you switched apparently not free, but it is enough to indicate likely. Up to two players can play simultaneously (for the duet tracks are). Here, the screen is divided into two.
To sing you need either appropriate microphones that you own from earlier versions or buys or one uses his smartphone to the SingStar app. That was the real reason for me SingStar finally a try since my purchase of Mikros just so to then test it was too expensive and I have to say it works just fine. The app is instantly recognized and there is no lag while singing (which is probably dependent on, among other things by its own wifi network).
Are there any criticisms?
Yes of course there are the. For example, it does indeed fun in a group singing, but the title SingStar Ultimate Party not entirely reveals itself to me, because it lacks an appropriate mode. Although I know the previous versions as I said not, but can understand the criticism here. In addition, the SingStar Store is still filled very modest. Sony has already announced but the change this over time. Why there is such blatant differences between the PS3 and PS4 here me though is also not clear, but as long as the changes I can live with it. Slightly irritating I find just how easy it can achieve a high score, forgive themselves quite sophisticated titles too many mistakes - that should be improved.
Conclusion
-------
I rate SingStar exclusively on the basis of the PS4 version. The older games I do not know. I love SingStar fun. The app is fast, looks chic and the microphone smartphone app is a great thing to not having to buy direct real mics. On the disc I have something in person to many German tracks, but since everyone has their own taste.
Personally, I think 3 stars at the moment perfectly ok and fair for what I have personally found in SingStar. I miss a real multiplayer mode for more than two players, and currently still too few titles in the store are available. Nevertheless, so far makes us SingStar lot of fun and I'm happy to be finally here once in the enjoyment of the game.
