1. Born in the USA
The so often misunderstood theme song. Certainly an anthem, but with a great critical text. The title is about a Vietnam veteran who in a dreary provincial town (Born in a dead man's town) is born and the only chance in his life sees the obligation as a soldier. Even Ronald Reagan has not understood this song and wanted to use him for a campaign, what Springsteen however prohibited. Really a great song.
2. Cover Me
Great single release and and also a masterpiece of Springsteen. Slightly quieter than Born in the USA, but also very strong
3. Darlington County
Nice song, but for me the weakest of this otherwise so grandiose album
4. Working On The Highway
Incredibly brisk song of an entraining.
5. Downbound Train
A wonderful ballad with an ingenious text. For me, this is the song of the album. even after years tears me this song with emotional. Springsteen plays a lifetime in 3:35 minutes to tell
6. I'm On Fire
Even a ballad and again absolutely succeeded.
7. No Surrender
Again a little faster and a true stadium anthem.
8. Bobby Jean
Class love song and for me one of the highlights of the CD. Unconditional out tip
9. I'm Goin 'Down
Was a single, but for me was the weakest. Nice title, but no more.
10. Glory Days
Class song with a very good text on the "Glory Days".
11. Dancing In The Dark
The first single and a real class Song. Here Springsteen has created a title that simply drags an atmospherically. Springsteen at it's best
12. My Hometown
Beautiful ode to a hometown.
Small side note: This was the first CD produced in the US.
Whoever listens to this album can imagine that it was 139 weeks in the US charts certainly. No weak tracks, only great song.
