Customer Review

In the 70's Rush mixed the world of hard rock to experimental and unprecedented structures. "2112" is a masterpiece, an explosion of creative activity! And so they made it even finally to world fame. Your 20-minute epic is still emblematic of the band and is celebrated by fans around the world at concerts frenetically: Without a small part of the mega plant to play they come not just from the stage! The title track consists of seven parts and is an ingenious series of quiet and hard passages, which are based respectively on the narrated story: a science fiction atmosphere; someone suddenly finds himself in 2112 and again tried completely overwhelmed and yet fascinated by what he sees, deal. It is interesting that even while Rush could incorporate strong choruses (the strength of a single song, and often the weakness of long numbers simultaneously) - "The Temples of Syrinx" is a classic!
Without "2112" it would have Dream Theater "A Change Of Seasons" can never give, who is the "genealogy" of the prog metal surrenders, sees at once in the New Yorkers grateful Abkupferer - this is Rush's prägendstes and most sustainable album. Who here (despite brilliant Remastering- work !!) recording from 1976 sounds too old-fashioned, which was to set the final live album "Different Stages Live" in 1998, followed by the Canadians as always deliver the piece in full length and terrific.
After the impressive title track, there are five "more manageable" songs: "Something for Nothing", "Lessons" and "The Twilight Zone" are crazy numbers full of power and wit, "A Passage to Bangkok" a live classic and the soulful "Tears" is one of the few genuine ballads the band's history represented.
