The volume control on the Telefunken reaches 40 ... At 4-5 it is then already hellishly fierce, with regard to the power of the Ultima. For the purposes of Tiananmen still with the surrounding neighborhood I leave it at 2-3 .... The bass is extremely powerful and imposing, the mids and highs exactly as I wanted it to me. Of course, the sound among other things depends on the signal-emitting amplifier and its technical capabilities, as well as dependent on the subjective listening preference settings. But I can imagine dare what to current high-quality amplifiers able to afford this LS. Have moved in approximately 35m²-room addition, new full-copper speaker cables. These are intended to reduce the line resistance, thereby increasing the resultant sound quality. In stores you can even advised me to still more expensive silver cables, as the imposing bass of Ultima MK2 could be allegedly controlled by an emphasis on the middle by the use thereof. The screw threads on the back allow bi-wiring or bi-amping; This of course only in accordance with the high-quality amplifiers (this possibility of sound enhancement remains for me at the time still hidden with my Telefunken Altertümchen ....)
My previous Conclusion: This tower speaker really offer very high quality, have here an amazingly pleasant price levels and make visually (as an elegant "furniture") as in particular natural acoustic sound with this powerful real fun.
And the devil knows what to bring there still out with appropriate equipment .....
