I am sworn Tolkien fan, so excites me here again the implementation of this not so simple substance (how do you get 13 very different and individual personalities of dwarves out who are only casually described in the book and not all?) The atmosphere is - as the Lord of the Rings - gigantic - you feel immediately "at home". With the performers of the dwarves that Jackson and his team is absolutely first class. Martin Freeman plays the hobbit, as he had never done anything else, and Richard Armitage is born Thorin. Pretty silly I find the figure of Radagast, who gets a lot more space in the film as he had in the book (could have been used for other sequences). The soundtrack by Howard Shore - as always - brilliant! The Making-off is always worthwhile. But the casting is driving a partial tears of laughter in his eyes. Definitely a lohnens- and always interesting investment
