Confessions [17 Tracks] (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Procedure: The grading system of 1-6 (including + and -.). Intros and interludes but can be evaluated for their regular weakness maximum only with a 3.
1 - Intro: "Confessions" begins with a very melancholy intro, which is dominated by a simple acoustic guitar and on the consistently very little is sung. Usher speaks rather to dwindling Background chants and explains the background of the album title. Unusually for the beginning of an R & B-longplayer. (1-)

2 - Yeah: Actually erchoren as a promo track and not as the first single, is "Yeah" probably the greatest potential of the CD enjoys. The bright, catchy beats that much interior to Lil'Jon's success "Get Low" (what does it matter that these "Yeah" has produced) and the like are catchy, dominate the whole track and make this "scary" good danceable. Ushers louder and stronger vocal acts almost hypnotic and blends seamlessly with the two rap parts of Lil'Jon and Ludacris. (1+)
3 - Throwback: Soundwise unusual Usher shows for the first time at this point. The warm up-tempo number is led by guitars and fluctuates - seen melodic - between joyful and sad passages. As memorable case however proves only the chorus and the brief interjections of a woman. So overall quite acceptable. (1-)
4 - Confessions (Interlude): While every other black-music-oriented disk already contains a phone conversation as Interlude, also love Usher can not do without such superfluities. Is beautiful weingstens that it starts towards the end to sing a noble arrangement of piano and strings. (2)
5 - Confessions Part II: Stylistically and this song is rather difficult to classify, because "Confessions Part II" may sound like a typical ballad, but it has a lot to beat fast. This is reflected in a kurzartmigen electric guitar plucking and gives "Confessions Part II" orderly pace. All in all, a thoroughly successful track which, although not necessarily new sounds but is lyrically very open. (2)
6 - Burn: What to "8701", the popular "U Got It Bad" was, on this album, "Burn", which is seen as the second single. With an unusual title marked, in which one probably thinks more like a fast track, "Burn" contains the same basic elements as its "8701" reflect each other exactly, even reminiscent of ballads of "My Way". But this is waived dramatic herzerreißernde melodies and Scream passages and prefers to concentrate on his warm, romantic streak and Ushers bright, rapähnlichen singing. (1-)
7 - Caught up: This Floorfiller Usher remembers at least melodically past successes such as "U-Turn". The catchy hook convinced by repetitive heckling, but can sound wise little draw on the solid - for the peculiar arrangement of dwindling Syntasize- and deep trumpet sounds is simply too special. If you look at stilitsch rather held at "Yeah," would of "Caught up" well what can be. (3+)

8 - Superstar (Interlude): Also this Interlude convinced by a slow flair that spotless next in the ballad
is about change and dominated by simple piano tunes. (2)
9 - Superstar: No, this track has nothing to do with Jamelias same pop song, but turns out to be ushertypische ballad with innovative arrangements. This is reflected in buzzing, distorted radio sounds again, lead a very nocturnal and dreamy feeling with it. So overall it was a great song that not remain seated in the ear, but is easy to listen to the relaxing. (1-)
10 - Truth Hurts: No, this track does not contain any adaptations that probably could indicate a possible eponymous singer at this point, which caused a sensation two years ago. "Truth Hurts" is a simple mid-tempo ballad with a lot simplerer melody and much much simpler Lyrics. All in all one of the more inconspicuous tracks with filler character and quality. And please do not yawn! (3)
11 - Simple Things: After "Superstar" and "Truth Hurts" you do not come here at least around the question of whether Usher is more bad than good by Alicia Keys for his new album has has inspired. Neo-soul influences in the form of piano sounds and simple Rhyhmusinstrumenten conjure same also from the uneinprägsamen "Simple Things" a mid-tempo ballad with a B-side character, which makes the last three / four songs badly placed pabulum. (3)
12 - Bad girl: Again bold show Usher and his producers at this point. Let sounds electric guitar with rock trains "Bad girl" remember Michael Jackson, which is also due to the mix of bright and vigorous vocals. However, here goes a good two minutes (similar to "Caught up") of steam and lost dreary boredom occurs - Please more typical dancefloor beats! (3+)

13 - That's what it's made for: and you're is again slowly. Bright Beats with minimal impact of 50 Cent's "21 Questions" form a slightly dreamy mid-tempo song whose arrangement too quickly appears in the background in some places for the relatively slow song Usher. Newly re stopgap goods ... (3+)
14 - Can U Handle It ?: In an R & B album may of course also of the titled as such "baby-making song" not missing, which is ushered in "Confessions" with this track. The entire sequence of notes is very, very, very slow and kept narrowly escapes the synonym "lameness". But Usher can develop vocally but completely and ventures into unsuspected depths and heights, which form a very successful song with a high chill factor. (2)
15 - Do it to me: Unusually complex turns out to this place not only singer Usher also producer Jermaine Dupri, who has a strange but even more than successful combination of deep Poch-beats and bright piano beats found. Melodic skin "Do it to me" not necessarily from the stool, but it is certainly one of the most distinctive tracks of Slow Jamz on "Confessions". (2+)
16 - Take your hand: Before closing, it is surprisingly tidy again beat-heavy, which is unusual for an up-tempo number towards the end. After an extremely long period of slower tracks but "Take your hand" is just right and placed seamlessly into the list - even if the "catchy Hit-character" is missing. (2)
17 - Follow me: The end of "Confessions" is very R & B-typical. Although it is slowing down and grenznähernd hip-hop ballad, but in "Follow me" that appears stylistically placed more bad than good, dominating especially the beats, assemble the entire song with a very futuristic undertone. Strange end ... (3)

Conclusion: As it turns out after viewing the cover of the CD, is presented with "Confessions" is a much more mature and nachdenklicherer Usher. This is reflected not only a priority basis in its involvement in the production but also in the field of Texterei again, which makes him seem even more credible in its kind. But not only usher itself but especially the 17 productions is to listen a significant transformation. War "8701" still characterized by very futuristic sound and maybe even overproduced B ratios for former R & so familiar "Confessions" "urbane" to a much more balanced, with a preference for sound to detail. So if you a plate with "Yeah" -like songs hoped, will probably be disappointed, because in fact, mid-tempo tracks and ballads dominate on the plate. Whether these are finally still a surrender value, everyone must find out for yourself (I recommend in any case before a listen!). All in all, lies with "Confessions" but a very akzeptbales album. Not earth-shattering, but beautifully finished.
