When one reads this album in 2007 we said that Hergé was nothing more than a collaborator. Do not get carried away. Certainly, the promoter of the expedition is a competitor called Bohlwinkel whose features seem very anti-Semitic cartoons insiprés Nazi propaganda (the character had also in the old version a name sounding totally Jewish). Certainly, participants in the European shipping are nationals of allied countries of Germany or neutral.
But this album is one of 3 or 4 episodes made under occupation and it was not good to show conivences with America in the 1940 Brussels.
Here, let Hergé what belongs to him, that is, all his honor. He deserves our admiration rather than our condemnation.
