Exactly, they have managed and with this album the foundation stone was laid for it.
You manage this is with songs like "Elvenpath", "Angels Fall First", "Astral Romance" and "The Beauty and the Beast", all lyrically breathed very mystical and ausgesattet with a lot of imagery and music with a good mix of acoustic elements paired with z. T. crashing drums and electric guitars and bombastic keyboard deposits.
Other highlights include the incredibly atmospheric 4-piece folk piece "Lappi / Lappland" and the oriental-style "Tuntankamen".
Less well done in my opinion, "The Carpenter", in which the vocal combination between Tarja and band leader Tuomas Holopainen, who acts as co-singer, not really fit together (that seems to have finally seen even Holopainen since more vocal inserts his hand stayed away ...).
For all Nightwish fans (and those who want it will be) a must !!!
