"Oooh nooo, guess who's back !?" The comeback of the nu-metal pioneers has already been announced several times: once in 2009 in an official press release, and then about a year later in the form of the song "Why Try". But euphoria it was neither the one nor the other trigger time with me. Since the last "album", so to speak, "The unquestionable truth pt. 1", which could only convince some places, I had actually written this band for me, I also wanted to have to wait at the shaky Durst Borland relationship, until the album is out before I believe it. And Nu Metal was in my opinion anyway to the genre, bringing the already longer no more surprises: Linkin Park have turned away in the meantime and are now on a strange electric trip, KoRn rotate since felt ten albums by himself and other representatives as Papa Roach eke out an existence in the unimportance. Yet I have given this album a chance. The longer they have put on the rack, the fans, the bigger even with my curiosity, if you grab me again and could build on good old "significant other" or of course "Chocolat Starfish" times !? The album opens with an unusual intro for LB, not hip-hop-heavy. The tension rises and eventually empties into what Limp Bizkit has been missing since apparently "Chocolat Starfish": one of these typical Borland riffs that swept one and only upside down, then bring the rest in motion. "Bring it back" already has everything, the LB-fan's heart desires, in the title track "Gold Cobra" This is yet perfected: the number goes straight forward, Fred rapping as good as long gone and the earwig is already after a short time in the ear canals firmly. "Shark Attack" is on the same card, the band cites blithely itself, but what the old fans should bring a smile. "Get a life" could have done with his weird verses and the outbreak in the chorus also good on the debut album "Three Dollar Bill Y'all". "Shotgun", "douche bag", the already known "Why try" ... the list of songs that give the presumed dead Nu Metal back to life without merely steal from themselves is long. The experiments are as expected scarce, but they work: in "Autotunage" eg occur after the intro drums and guitar a bit into the background, the number is a real party track with a catchy tune of the chorus. Would be a shame if this song would make no single. Only "Walking Away" and "Loser" switch once briefly a step down and let the movement joyful listener to catch his breath. However, with the alternating passages of quiet verses and loud choruses, the two songs rows perfectly into the tradition of "It'll be okay" or "Re-Arranged". Only the final track of the regular album, "Killer in you", looks a bit bleak at first sight, but soon catch yourself doing, as well as this one does not go chorus out of my head. Overall, the album a few more passages might need as usual, some songs reach their full potential sometimes even only at the 7th or 8th hearing. But now that my initial doubts are all blown away, I can say: It's worth it. The only impression that remains is that the album is quite entertaining. The previous albums were my feeling even more varied and "more room took" (I do not know how to explain it better). But I can only recommend to everyone warmly, is to purchase the Deluxe Edition. The four additional songs give the album with the monotonous "Back Porch" and the quiet "My own Cobain" and "Angels" while another calm, but also thoughtful and maybe that's why interesting facet. And the obligatory hip-hop track is ft with "Middle Finger". Paul Wall then also represented. And the advantage of entertaining albums is that you love to again expresses at the end to 'Play'. "Gold Cobra" brings the Limp Bizkit-sound that has made them one of the biggest rock bands of our time, back in an impressive way. And the future is gold, is so golden, y'all!
