The "hero" of the book is here attracted by the depths of the sea, which vary with the passage of time and we are, we readers, drawn into the depths of his soul. The story is very captivating, in the sense that we are prisoners of this slow descent, one feels at over time which also passes, can only end in death. Although this is not a police officer, I read also feverishly and I think very soon read it eliminating from my mind the enigmatic appearance.
