... Namely the fact that there is no album sounds like a previous and still comes in distinctive Killers sound. I was the first single Runaways little too smooth and I had concerns, but at first listen of the album was already clear that Battle Born is an incredibly beautiful masterpiece. It works first as a whole, as a unit, the gamut of perfect opener Flesh and Bone through to the final song Battle Born - and the bonus tracks are a real addition. Even for me it has then taken a while, until crystallized the details of each song from the complexity of the sound. And lo and behold, suddenly heard the album a lot rockier than initially. In the lyrics, there is much to discover again, when Miss Atomic Bomb a piece of history of the US state of Nevada is told, Heart of a Girl is presented very spiritual and so convincing that it also triggers the 100th hearing yet goosebumps. Flesh & Bone, deadlines and commitments, Rising Tide and Carry Me Home are lyrically absolute Anspieltipps. While the instrumentation is so complex that one discovers guitar riffs and baselines only gradually for themselves, this time Brandon Flower's voice is at the forefront of the songs. Clear and strong and safe it is, Flowers is certainly at the height of his vocal possibilities (As the "I Believe" is in Heart of a Girl herausschmettert terrific). The deliberately oblique tones of previous albums you can not find here, but that he can bring later times :-) And you can all be enjoyed in the consciousness of being able to listen to the songs live once, The Killers are live rather better than on board.
