In my view, the soul of evil is somewhat below In Tenebris and Hexes but still worth seeing. This is the 1st adventures of Inspector Brolin taking place in Portland (city where the author studied criminology ...) in Oregon and will start on the trail of a serial killer apparently dead since one year. The author already has a sacred sense of suspense and comes to captivate the reader through the chapters and never let off steam ... I think the only "dark spot" in the ointment is the fact that by the time the style writing can seem a bit messy and give the impression that the author is still looking, but without prejudice to the contents of the plot ... Besides, I did not get that impression by reading 2 other books Maxime Chattam. A very good book that fans of the genre are likely to appreciate ...
