As with Panasonic fortunately standard, the wide-angle lens comes with all accessories, aslo also the lens hood in the transport bag. Since my liaison with the Canon 7D and the matching optics, I learned that the custom is not, unfortunately, and lift it out since then praise. The Panasonic wide-angle lens is the 14-45 clearly superior tactile. Everything fits and is very well made. The zoom ring is running full and without scratching. Panasonic is working here at the highest level.
As might be expected, the 7 - 14, of course not entirely without representation error. However, it is really corrected very good for a wide-angle lens with this focal length beginning at the equivalent of about 14mm. The camera's correction of the GF-1 operates in this combination here very appealing. When Endbrennweite of 28mm is hardly perceive anything else. The vignetting (Randabdunkelung) is on par with good conventional DSLR lenses and is also OK, the so-called CAs, thus color bleeding is not worth mentioning.
The images of little baby are very very presentable. The small wide-angle makes very special shots in my eyes. It provides excellent, high-resolution, crisp images up to the corners. The AF of 7-14 is very fast and super quiet. The approximately 300g lightweight lens is very compact. Unfortunately, the use of screw filters in optics Panasonic is not possible, which I personally find very sad. The focal length of 7-14mm wide angle zoom is variable enough and complements the already available lens series for the MFT down sense. By 7-14, the 20 / 1.7, and the .45 Leica, is (converted for the small picture) a very high quality lens series for Panasonic MFT available to just the 100mm limit, the picture is not technically need to hide from small format lenses.
Short and sweet
Positive:
+ Processing and haptics
+ Hardly aberrations by internal processing
+ Imaging performance
+ Scharf into the corners
+ Compact and lightweight
+ Quick and quiet AF
Negatives:
- No use of filters possible
- High cost price
My conclusion: The MFT system of the future. Since the 7-14 was a logical consequence. The wide-angle lens is really succeeded. Nevertheless, the acquisition of 7-14 will be carefully considered. Olympus offers the clearly more favorable, 9-18. For someone who wants a wide angle lens, but this is not often used, which can be an alternative. I opted for the (vermeindlich) better G Vario 7-14 and did not regret. This small compact lens compensates with very good images and thus comfort across the high cost price. A small drawback is the inability to use filters. But there is indeed Lightroom and Co. Despite the salted price the small wide-angle lens has the 5 earned.
