I follow the steps of Staubkind since the first album, and thus the musical development.
Vorneweg I want to ask me against all parallels that Staubkind allegedly has to Unholy. The development of the band to Louis Manke can be seen completely independent of the count. The album is the logical Consistently a steady development since the debut Dreamcatcher. Dreamcatcher was most affected by "industrial rock" influences both the production as well as the pace, only a different mood is captured. If you imagine the music on dreamcatcher a singer a la Alexander Wesselsky (Megadeth, icebreakers) or Till Lindemann (Rammstein) before, this could be an industrial-plate, luckily she was not there. Not surprising, since Louis with Terminal Choice indeed guitarist in an industrial band (Terminal Choice) plays.
The EP Burnt is the first record in the Staubkind already floats slightly from the industrial free before hardly be heard at the 2nd album Too Far more industrial influences. The guitar production on "Too Far" is certainly something snotty as on the current album, but on the whole there is also wide to a clearly sombre mood.
"Staubkind" however, is the content of more hope this knocks on the music. The whole album is produced gentle and know no hard corners and edges. For the hardliners likes a "softening" be, for me, this is a logical step. Firstly, because the lyrics give it up, partly because Staubkind has managed in the difficult third album what many other bands do not create your very own style to be faithful and not to copy itself. And here is the big difference to Unholy. If you liked the first two albums, also like the new album. Boring it is not yet, because not repeat the first two albums in this third. The chart success is certainly also due to tour with Unheilig, but not only. He gives a band the public, many of the scene does not become part of. And with a strong album (which was written independently of the tour with Unheilig) in the back, the band has made the best of it.
Now the album itself:
The album is very well balanced with rock numbers, beautiful melodies and ballads. One can hear through the back successful intro on the rocking opener (only one day) to the quiet end (Little Angels) in a tour. It repeats nothing, no song drops out and needs to be skipped. The title name, who personally at first somewhat put me off are, VLT. not so promising, but the music it is all the more. For me Staubkind the strongest album of the band, precisely because no song negative fall out. My personal favorites are "so close to me", "arrived" and "Infinite Being". Strong buy recommendation.
