How well I too have been impatiently waiting for a new plant, the Canadian rock quartet, most of the more numerous become Nickelback fans. When you consider what great success the band to Chad Kroeger with the last album "Silver Side Up" had the world, it seems likely that a stylistically similar longplayer is now to follow up on this. But this is certainly not the case. Of the previously released Nickelback albums I'd best be compared "The Long Road" to the first work "Curb". The new sound is rebellious, harder and less radio compatible, therefore, which I find very gratifying. No song without hard guitar riffs, catchy texts on various topics and all with Chad Kroeger's intoxicating and penetrating rock voice. The quieter pieces include "Someday" and "Should've Listened", but the move at least at the same level as the other tracks. More Playing tips are especially "Another Hole In The Head" and "See You At The Show". All in all I can only recommend buying this CD. One should also make only the second or third hearing an impression on some songs, because maybe it requires a short familiarization period. Will disappoint "The Long Road" but no Nickelback fan!
