The mijoteur whose crockpot is the original, makes cooking foods retain all their nutritional and taste qualities and their smoothness. In addition, this method of cooking, slow and long, launch a flat ahead and find the ready to eat in the evening, thanks to the automatic mode "kept warm" end of cooking - which allows keep food safely through the principle of "hot line".
I have used for some time, a basic crockpot and a model of another brand: Kenwood CP658 Mijoteur Thermostat 3 positions Power 320 watts, which gave me about satisfaction. However, after trying this new crokpot my Kenwood may well go into oblivion!
The main drawback of traditional crokpot (which is not as we tend to believe a product that allows to swing all the ingredients and cook all at the back as I-te-shoot, but to continue slow cooking a very soft flat finish) is that we must proceed in two stages, with a first cooking on the fire, in a frying pan or casserole.
This new slow cooker avoids dirtying other utensil and having to transfer boiling mixtures because it burns down. Furthermore it can be put in the fridge and then delivered directly to heat, it can stand the heat shock.
In practice, it is very convincing.
The dish is very light: 1,375 kilos for the only casserole with lid 2,350 kilos.
The capacity is excellent and shape, with a narrower bottom, very appropriate. Cooking on the stove is convenient and hassle free.
And washing is done in a jiffy !! The coating is absolutely perfect. A major criticism I have my Kenwood is that the pot is very difficult to clean. Indeed, with this type of cooking, top of the mixture is obtained from a small liserai very very cooked food, which tends to attach. With my Kenwood was horror; typical example: the rice pudding. Here I come to do another, and the result was not only delicious, but the dishes are not asked me a few moments. This changes everything!
- The instructions are in French (and other), short and clear, with some very useful tips.
Remarks:
* ATTENTION: the casserole of mumps are hot right now and should always be handled with gloves. The grip, even with mittens is excellent, so no worries on that side.
* Be careful if you change the temperature during cooking, in from 1 to 2 or vice versa: the clock back to zero, the machine is turned off! We must therefore think to put time on the road after handling temperature.
* Never use this appliance for heating food: it would be much too long, so no practice and especially risky germs have time to multiply.
* The model offers "a selection of recipes", do not expect a cookbook! It is only 5 recipes, following the instructions (the list of ingredients for one of it is curiously in English!): Root vegetable soup / sauce Bolognese / lamb and Curry sweet potatoes / Braised Lamb Shanks with Mediterranean / Apple crumble and nuts.
Nothing very auspicious so, but it at least serves to get an idea of cooking times and temperatures. Second recipe books (and blogs) for this kind of cooking abound, it is not difficult to find recipes and dadapter his.
* The unit emits a strong, unpleasant smell has faded but did not disappear after three uses: to see with the use (I will update this advisory)
