I have a Nikon DSLR in DX format and knows how good images can look. I also know what else is possible with FX. Since the Small does not come close with their CX sensor. But the picture quality is excellent, considering the size of the system. After gut feeling, I would say somewhere between D40 and D90. The reached for most applications. The 10-30 makes a very good impression. And the little flash provides excellent illumination. One should deal with the settings be sure. The automatic system is good, but the photographer can often better. From RAW you can extract more than once from the JPGs. The AF is incredibly fast, the HD videos very well. Operation easy to learn. Conclusion: For me, the perfect complement to the DSLR.
