- Disturbing Advertising in menus for other software (for the price, you should really give up advertising), but is nevertheless deactivated in the settings: "[] Connect automatically to the Internet for product information".
- Does not recognize nVidia Optimus technology, video coding is therefore passed on to the CPU rather than GPU.
- Created user's personal profiles, they are sent to "MoovieLive".
- Switching from the Classic Mode in the cinema mode (mode for remote control from the couch) requires a restart of the program or crashes without notification even you up.
- Changes in 3D mode changes the Windows color scheme.
- Permanent update icon in the main window, although any updates are available.
personal experience in the following notebook (with latest drivers!):
Lenovo T520
4 core CPU (Core i7)
nVidia Quadro 4200 / Intel HD (Optimus technology - turns betw Onboard and dedicated graphics card automatically.)
8 GB of RAM
160GB Intel SSD
Windows Professional 64bit
It took 3 complete new installations and after each 3 single product updates with ~ 200MB extent that it was reasonably accurate. (All good things come in ..) The uninstall is very poorly executed, and leaves a lot of junk on the PC both files as well as registry entries, they had to be removed by hand, because the setup otherwise refused Power DVD aufzuspielen again.
PDVD is still going very slow, if it is running, it runs but the path to it is terribly annoying.
It is and will remain for me a last resort, because it simply currently BluRay Player software is nothing better.
The (in a legal gray area) solution with AnyDVD + VLC Player is also just a workaround, but does in the long run also no fun.
