Three years ago, Madonna wanted to get the love and therefore can adore in GIVE ME ALL YOUR LUVIN of Nicki Minaj and MIA. Today she wants to have them still, they were holding her but often before. Bad seems not to be. In their current single LIVING FOR LOVE Madonna mimes once again the tough superwoman. Heartache is taken as an opportunity to celebrate life and love for crunching dance beats. A hymn same declaration of love with choral accompaniment is heard, which states that one should just go ahead and live for love, even if the do not want to have a sweetheart.
Although the sound of LIVING FOR LOVE is more or less a repetition and offers exactly what the crowd wants to hear at the time - and a danceable and melodic echo of the eighties and nineties - the title is therefore produced no worse. It fits well into a modern music scene. Madonna has always been the interpreter, reflecting the spirit of the music. They reinforced with LIVING FOR LOVE the statements of all (mostly quite precocious) people who claim that earlier everything was somehow better. As Madonna classics the uptempo number will not enter determined in the story. It shows, however, that the pop queen even after more than thirty years, still has energy and will supply new material for the upcoming REBEL HEART TOUR.
Whether they LIVING FOR LOVE is present with the almost awesome intro of the dance-heavy "Offer Nissim Living for Drama Remix", as it did at the Grammys and Brit Awards? This regulatory exciting in many ways performances, in which the text lines "watch me stumble" and "I'm gonna carry on" be taken literally to call itself, again in memory, it requires only the reproduction of the second title of the physical CD Single, which has a length of six and a half minutes.
--- To --- CD single
For an artist like Madonna, who knows all generations to inspire, I am surprised why their extractions are rather neglected. Of course it is known that the sales of CD singles has declined drastically in recent years, yet it is precisely artists like AC / DC, David Bowie, Michael Jackson or even Madonna, who still might tear something with good CD singles. From an additional vinyl single, as it was earlier in the rule, and I will not even begin, but it would have been too much to ask, to provide the audio CD with additional remixes?
The 2-track is already published in vorherein unattractive with only one Mix and only one color variant of the album cover of the deluxe CD. We could have done much more. It finally were eight official remixes (!) Published by LIVING FOR LOVE that you can listen to Madonna's official YT profile. I miss especially the six-minute "Djemba Djemba Club Mix", which continues the tradition of the extended versions of the eighties. On the American promo CD with a total of nine versions of LIVING FOR LOVE it was indeed up pressed. As the name but suggests, this CD is only for advertising. It was produced only in a limited supply.
Given such loveless marketings it's no wonder that the sales of singles go back. Such 2-track Dinger buy only a few die-hard fans and collectors of all Madonna.
--- Conclusion ---
A new nuance forms LIVING FOR LOVE not in the colorful discography Madonna. Audible - to New Germany "catchy" - and well produced it works but still, making it is a good appetizer with positive basic statement on the thirteenth studio album Rebel Heart.
Buyers of physical releases coming in the meager 2-track CD only partly at their own expense. The "Offer Nissim Living for Drama Remix" in my opinion is indeed really nice, but has clearly not enough for fans - a star deduction for poor single and another that the promo CD with nine titles only selected DJs (or rather collectors?) is reserved.
