After only half a year since it was founded in the summer of '66 Cream have released with Disraeli Gears their second album. Recorded in 3 days. The development of the sound of the band can be best understood if one compares this with their first album. They have made a big step forward, and after a furious debut. Your creativity has increased enormously. All songs are from our own spring, especially of Jack Bruce and the poet Peter Brown wrote: There lyrical texts as well as colorful music as the cover suggests. Cream have their blues horizons expanded by several light years, the pieces come in a unique song structure with unusual chord progressions. Of course, their blues roots are to hear well: in "Strange Brew", "Sunshine of Your Love" (which they inspired Jimi Hendrix) or "Take it back". Properly psychedelic it is in "We're Going Wrong" (hypnotic!), "Tales of Brave Ulysses" or "Dance the night away". The British humor has its place in "Mother's Lament". The musical abilities of Bruce, Baker & Clapton come on this disc full effect, the enjoyment of the listener. If this is read someone the Cream are unknown ... this music is different from what one of Clapton's usual today. And it is also very different from contemporary music, no matter what genre. Maybe it does not appear readily accessible to today's listening habits ... and this I would like to highlight as a quality characteristic. Cream were very unique. Clapton has never been better ... and only 21! Here this was a band of 3 equal virtuoso, with his time of each "best" was on his intrument. Maybe it will take its time until newer bands refer to the Cream, as Brit Popper doing on the beat bands. Cream have definitely rank, class and importance that they have intiiert own genre.
