Even the beginning was a delight. Finally a big pack full tear feeling with Lego and sort the parts - which has already lasted only one hour. The actual construction has then again a total of 15 (!) Hours swallowed. In particular, who is interested in transmission, will find it here. Because of a motor needs to drive a variety of different things. All settings can be accomplished centrally with 3 levers (8 different functions and). It is a delight to watch the whole mess on wheels and rods, especially after the construction of most of it is still good to see.
And although the truck is so big, it is still absolutely stable and safe construction. It also has a number of details, such as side mirrors, door knob, lights, stickers etc. and even the driver's cab can be tilted forward to watch the mock V8 engine.
Just by being too extensive gear I can not say exactly whether young people are able to tinker the whole thing together, or even understand - but they would certainly learn a lot. But since that has made an adult child who is now just a guess. Unfortunately, even in the manual two errors in it, which should however be noticed relatively quickly. But otherwise it is easy to read and very rarely you might overlook what at first glance. The construction went with me in any case without problems.
The only drawback: The battery compartment is theoretically easy to reach (directly behind the cab), but in practice but then difficult to remove. But since I do not play around with the crane 24 hours a day, the battery replacement should still be rare. Annoying's was still in the moment;).

Who loves Lego Technic, this model will idolize). Please make sure more of Lego.
