If there was the word "cool" does not have, it would have to be invented for Bryan Ferry. After his "flipppigen" early years with Roxy Music and quite palatable pop during the late years with this band, he hit a solo career still "more elegant" sounds on. "Bete Noire" is a wonderful album that can inspire me even today. Sure, it sounds at times not quite up to date, despite the first-class army of studio musicians (Johnny Marr and David Gilmour about). Even so, the songs are great, small tragedies, prepared wonderfully. And all this for less money!
