God of War 3 - platinum (Video Game)

Customer Review

Direct sequel to God of War II, this third part offers a sublime epic conclusion of Kratos.

* The sequel to God of War 2 "Divine Retribution"

To recall, the story picks up the story where God of War II had left open.
We thus find our spartan and the Titans on the rise of Olympus, ready to do battle with the Gods.
Faced with this rebellion, Zeus agrees and sends his fellow Poseidon settle accounts with Kratos and Gaia.

In my view, it is better to have played God of War 1 and 2 before touching episode.
The scenario and the staging really participate in the interest of the game. So I urge to play original games on Playstation 2 or obtain porting God Of War Collection (God of war God of war 1 + 2) to Playstation 3

* A passage sublimated on PS3

God of War III is the first episode developed specifically for the Playstation 3.
It fully demonstrates that a transition to a more powerful console is not limited to a single resolution change.
Certainly, the characters are sharper and scenery gaining details and depth, but this is perhaps not the score more minds.

The opening sequence shows pretty well what brings the PS3 in terms of achievement and game experience.
Already the battle against Poseidon takes place on a mobile setting, alive. And for good reason, since they fight on the back, on the chest, on the head, on or under the arms, or even in the bowels of Titan. If the series we had actually used to stunning material inputs, it is clear that the first sequence does not demerit in relation to the fight against the Colossus of Rhodes (see God of War II) and we administered another slap.

Another pleasant surprise related to the transition to a more powerful machine: the significant increase in the number of enemies. It is not unusual to see our opposite character to twenty different enemies. And without any slowdown.
The difficulty is not necessarily more important, but the confrontation with genuine hordes further increases the feeling of omnipotence and excess that we had experienced before.

* The welcome in terms of gameplay improvements

We can not say that this third episode revolutionize an already well-honed gameplay.
However, it brings some very significant improvements:
- Weapons that finally pose as valid alternatives to eternal blades Kratos: clutches of Hades, cestus Nemea (identical to the old Zeus fists), whip Nemesis (interesting for air combo);
- A less restricted use of certain objects, like the bow;
- Some particularly epic battles against some bosses: Poseidon, Hades, Chronos, Zeus, ...;
- Some new phases of the game - to glide in fact - that bring a little variety to the combat recipe puzzles + + platforms.

We still regret not being able to stop the execution of a combo, but it's getting there ...

* The best episode of the series?

It is always difficult to comment on it. I just see that God of War 3 is a game that has obviously been refined in every detail and the success of the series has clearly not bridled ambition of its developers nor their desire to meet the players.

God of War 3 is one game at a more balanced difficulty.
Remember the battle against annoying in GoW Ares I. Remember us QTE hyper-fast against Zeus at the end of GoW2!
Unlike earlier episodes, there are no stages in the frustrating difficulty, especially at the final boss.

The only complaint I may have to send him is the easy puzzles to solve as well as the surprising simplicity of the platform phases.
A bit like the PSP episodes, God of War 3 is perhaps too focused on fighting, but it remains an excellent game that should appeal to all fans of beat 'em all and great epics.

To be enjoyed without moderation, pending the mysterious God of War IV, which we do not know much yet.

Note: The extreme violence present in this game (especially during particularly gory finish combos) the reserve and indisputably a ADVISED MAJOR public.
