Now she is so ago, this Sandra box from the guarantor for top quality "Platinum Collection" series of EMI, which also superb boxes of Genesis, among others, Mike Oldfield, & Cockney Rebel Steve Harley, Tina Turner, Deep Purple , Adamo, Mireille Mathieu and the first general uncertainty have appeared. A hallmark of all parts of this series is first of all the outstanding remastered sound. That's certainly true at the Sandra box. All titles sound now as Sandra songs actually had always need sound. However, just their early recordings of the 80's were on CD always very thin and washed out, some even tinny and almost no bass. But now you can hear the quality remastering out immediately, the recordings sound forceful, brilliant and above all nice punchy-bassy. A true feast for the ears!
The compilation should be emphasized. The box provides in chronological order all published in Germany Sandra singles from 1985 to 2009. At the point where a single contained a different version than the corresponding album, was resorted to this single version, which I welcome, because many single versions did not exist on CD or only on extremely rare CD compilations from the '80s or exclusively on promotional CDs. In addition, some of the best music tracks are represented, such as the enchanting song "Sisters and Brothers", the Sandra has devoted her brother, who died in 1995, incidentally, is how to learn from the activity booklet. Or "Celebrate Your Life", a piece with an incredible hit potential, which actually would have to be published as a single. Or the beautiful, reminiscent of Enigma ballads "Lovelight In Your Eyes" and "Mirrored In Your Eyes".
The icing of this lovingly prepared CD-Box (which, incidentally, also includes interviews with Sandra and her ex-husband Michael Cretu and many beautiful photos) are, of course, the Maxi versions on the third CD. Pity the selection ranges only to 1988 and such great Maxis as "We'll Be Together" and "Around My Heart" are missing. But more has to the three CDs packed full to the brim just not top fit. And Maxis in 1989 there was finally on regular CD singles, which can easily be found at flea markets, record fairs and Internet auction sites even today.
So all in all a first class in every respect publication, which I recommend to anyone who likes to listen to Sandra Cretu and other productions. Also from me a big thank you to Sandra and EMI for this box!
