Why then so only four instead of five stars? This has two main reasons:
1) The set is advertised as "great gift". While it is noted that a) is not sent the set in gift packaging and b) the sets are optionally also supplied in a box with multiple order - as happened with me - this is from my perspective, but pity. It would be great this set also in a gift box - to get - just as advertised as "great gift". Too bad, but still worth it for themselves no star devaluation, there is indeed noted. So we come to ...
2.) The words' For short-term non-availability of certain products we reserve the right to replace them with equal or higher value products "is please to note. With me were three of the twelve beers not mentioned on the list.
Not included in the set were: Polar Pilsener beer (Venezuela), Cerveceria Bucanero Fuerte Cubanero beer (Cuba), Corona "Corona Extra" (Mexico)
Instead, have been delivered: Brahma Beer (Brazil), Orval Trappist beer (Belgium), Foster's Beer (Australia)
One can admirably argue about whether the "replacement beers" compared to those on the list - as advertised - the same or higher quality, but for a present this represents for me a certain disadvantage because. For me, for example, it was important to see certain countries represented - except for Cuba, I was lucky - but this is with regard to the availability probably a gamble.
According consistently I subtract a star for the suitability as a gift. I think even for personal use, it is certainly not always optimal, if you do not really know the composition of the set.
In short: To whom does the composition of the set is of secondary importance and who would like to get an overview of beers in the world or just give this, the is hereby given a strong buy recommendation.
