After numerous measurements, I am now convinced of this product. The measurements are performed quickly, easily and reliably.
According to the manufacturer, the IRT6020 Thermoscan has an accuracy of the displayed temperature range of +/- 0.2 degrees C (clinical repeatability: +/- 0.14 degrees C). My experience so far confirm a "relatively high" accuracy in the range of about +/- 0.1 degrees C. Even with repeated measurements so far showed only a small scattering of max. 0.1 degrees C. The indicated temperature range is from 34.0 to 42.2 C.
I would have liked to have had an illuminated display, but this feature is in practice ultimately dispensable and no selling point for the IRT 6520 ThermoScan 7. Also, the color-coded display with age-related color depending on the measured temperature (eg,> 36 months green to about 37, 5 C - age input is required before measurement) is an unnecessary feature for me and makes measuring only slightly more complicated.
The battery life is specified by the manufacturer with 2 years or 600 measurements. The use of cheap AA batteries (2x AA) in IRT6020 can be described, in my view as an advantage.
BRAUN thermometers are, to my knowledge, meanwhile, by Kaz Europe (or Kaz Helen of Troy Consumer Products) manufactured under license from well-known brand BRAUN. My product was labeled "designed in Germany" and "Made in Mexico".
Conclusion: The IRT6020 makes a good quality impression, easily and quickly delivers reliable results, has ultimately a good price / performance ratio and can be been recommended without reservation.
