The opener comes BRENNISTEINN really cool being caught unawares. Depth and sluggish bass accompanied by brilliant electric guitars accompany this hymn. Grandiose is the structure of the song, the initial inertia gives way to pure energy and the peaceful ending a perfectly blends.
Comparatively tame and quiet time, take a HRAFNTINNA. Distinctive elements (similar to a glockenspiel) accompany the floating beautiful song. And since they are again, the dizzying highs and brilliant singing enchanting Jonsi. Also nice, the magnificent brass sounds are there constantly heard somewhere, in the end they step out of the sound and decide the song in an ingenious way.
Lightweight and quite jazzy sound Sigur Rós at ISJAKI. Here I feel immediately reminiscent of Jónsi's solo work. Little edgy and experimental sounds of this song, rather almost catchy and smooth, yet he radiates of fascinating beauty.
YFIRBORD starts quite dreamy and calm. Then sneaks an occasional offensive Dance Sound one, melody and vocals let this terrible unruffled. A somewhat unusual combination that sounds really cool and awesome.
In Stormur the main focus, like no other song on Jónsi's voice. The straight music with piano accompaniment klimpernder appears rather unspectacular and can singing and melody a lot of space to develop. Nevertheless, a great song that no longer goes out of his head.
The title song kveikur shines as my undisputed highlight above the rest of the album. Such a horny rock board I had here not at all expected. The floating vocals from Jónsi on such rattling drums and guitars sounds cool properly. Hammer-melody, hammer sound, Mega-Song.
RAFSTRAUMUR offers a good mix of catchy pop sounds and cool rocking guitar sound. Both changes in regulated order until the song the great finale rises. The melody also knows to convince the song anyway.
Neat momentum and Pepp brings then again towards the end with BLAPRADUR. The sound is peppered with all sorts of bells and whistles and swirls the song by good melody and singing hymns have something exemplary. In the end, you will hear a quiet and relaxing finish.
Relaxed, quiet instrumental with piano and string sounds can Sigur Rós finish the album. VAR shows parallels to Valtari.
Spartan seems to the packaging of the CD. No proper booklet, only a leaflet with drawings kritzeligen pushed into the cardboard cover, which has no more than these simple drawings to offer. The cover image is now also not my case. Regardless, the music is top notch and Sigur Rós deliver kveikur an album highlight, 2013. The only solution is to buy and enjoy.
