This novel by Michel Faber advised me that "Victoreau" is non-standard and completely crazy. It is a olni (unidentified literary object). Isserley (woman at least strange) traverses the roads of Scotland looking for hitchhikers preferably big and muscular. After a chat, she pierced with a drug (the icpathua) and takes them to a very special farm (Ablach Farm). She and her congénaires who consider themselves men, hunt down Vodsels (real humans who are treated like cattle) to fatten them up and send them to the "Vess Industries" or they become a delicacy. This story is a rare and very oppressive cruelty. It reminded me a bit to a lesser extent a film "Nights of Horror" or buried in a garden hotel customers to fatten them as geese and eat. The purpose of this novel by Michel Faber is absolutely not the same as the author vigorously denounces a society superior beings or market criterion is king. In conclusion, I say that this book is not recommended for the faint hearted as it is exciting but pretty awful. It is a kind of thriller mixed with science fiction gore. Only flat, the end was a bit disappointed but I hope there will be a sequel. Excellent novel. Adanson Marco.
