Coryn is the only daughter of a large family of 11 children. She grew up being erased face all these brothers constantly seconding her mother in daily life. When growing up, it becomes all too beautiful, her parents married to Jack. After all, Jack is handsome, confident, hardworking, and he seems to love Coryn, she was only 17 and who knows nothing of life ... so why not?
Why not ... because the reality is not always what it seems ... because Jack loves so Coryn he will not stand to lose ... because he then wants to control everything, it she reads, what she sees, what she hears ... because this is his wife and he does what he wants her ...
But that is not what love is.
And the most amazing destinies, Coryn and Kyle, both wounded souls will meet and without realizing it will be the cause of an upheaval for one another. It is sometimes enough to not much, a gesture, a look, so that life takes another turn and it's what we skillfully demonstrates the author in this novel.
Driven by an elegant and often poetic pen, the story is compelling from beginning to end. Difficult to put the book back to his everyday life. And when it does, the characters are there, like shadows that follow us and ahead of us. We think of them, there is concern for them and just waiting, you can find them.
I loved the style of the author, his words were haunting me and went right to the heart.
The chapters are short, sometimes very short, and give a real dynamic to the story. Already the story is captivating, while there, it was really hard not to swallow at once.
The subject is difficult and I have more than once felt a rage inside me. I cried for the characters but for these women, there outside, who actually live it. And this powerlessness that I felt. It is a reality, it happens every day, and this is intolerable.
Domestic abuse, whether physical or psychological is intolerable.
This is a subject I have already had the opportunity to discuss with my daughters, in part through commercial that goes on TV. They asked me questions and I answered them honestly. Above all, I told them the love, it's not that. A husband, a boyfriend ... has no right to hit his wife. Point. You do not hit people we love, we do not insult, it does not lock as Coryn was locked ...
You'll understand that this book is upsetting and sobering.
At the same time, it is a novel full of hope and love. This is one of the most beautiful love stories, one of those stories that follows us long and how rethinking with a twinge.
I believe in those moments when the fates intertwine. We do not know why that day we went to this place rather than another, nothing had prepared us and yet it is there, and our life has changed ...
A real favorite for this novel, reading urgently!
