The unpacking was just like any non-Apple product the same: a lot of styrofoam, plastic bags and a few tapes. Assembling I even get as far as possible without instruction sheet.
Ready. Angemacht.
I had previously tested the shallow brother and sent back for lack of curvy design. First: the curve brings it, but it could have been a little more. The meaning behind it is so, that I - no matter where I look down - always have the same distance between the eye and the display. But LG has probably be Copied here from the Curved design of the TV department: I would have to sit at least 1 meter away from the monitor, so that they Minimi curvature results in any sense. But is not the ergonomically. And also not good for the eyes.
What good.
But still: I had a "wow" moment when I ergonomically (60-70cm away from the screen) have draped me in front of the screen and used. What I do? Look no films Definitely. For the small area of the fovea that would be for a one-hour film that is unhealthy (because many movements of the eye and neck muscles. The area is indeed quite nice and big! ".
I program and make websites with the monitor - and it works great! Links the website, the right code. Perfect.
What bad.
I work almost every day with the flagship. That means I get even with repeatedly what so environmental influences on the monitor so make everything. There is, for one, the temperature fluctuations - the monitor is hot and in a healthy space ventilation (at airing, sometimes a heater, etc.), there are times a warm, sometimes a cold environment for the monitor. Quite often that comes before then that the material begins to "work". It cracks times suddenly here and there. Knack. Crackle - almost like a fire, only that the fire is not beautiful sounds, if it comes from the monitor.
Plastic is not for the monster - and certainly not for the chunk of bills that you have to shell out for it.
Oh yes: Bleeding and some shit I did not nachgeguckt. For me a color fidelity representation was more important than a "real" black. But I think I have none. I should probably eventually realized ;-)
Summa Summaro.
The monitor is really great - it is meant. However, the curve is a bad joke and marketing of a "beautiful" design you can not speak - the monitor is perhaps more beautiful than others, but still ugly. But that probably falls under the rubric of "matter of taste". Why LG has taken a huge, space-eating walking as a design feature, I can at least do not always tell me. Since when the feet of the device are as please a pretty feature? ;-)
During daily work you realize, however, where actually are the pros and cons. The plastic really crackles every half to one hour, which is now no confidence in longevity on the part of the monitor. The resolution, size and the ratio is definitely great. Well, the resolution could have been even a little better, but that may come with the progressive development. What is sometimes disturbing, is the slow response time, but unfortunately you can feel very strong. Response time is here: how long it takes the monitor to display a new image. If times but a film flickers over a wide area on the screen, unfortunately, go fast, action-packed scenes with in the response time bustle.
Everything from the viewpoint of the Swabian "What koschts?" but I must say: for 1100, I expect perfection in every aspect. Because everything has to be right and nothing can break. The part has to blow me from the outside, if it is just there. And the image when I use it. As the fist on the eye or ass on bucket.
Tut's not - that's why there's only two asterisks.
"Should I buy now or not?"
Your Decision. Unfortunately, there are few alternatives on the market. Who can wait, should be an even, wait two more years.
