I must say that this is one of my favorite Christmas CDs. There are three reasons: (1) conveys the atmosphere of the 50s / 60s as Christmas somehow more like Christmas was. Low key, less technical, less costly, more restrained, emotional, naive. (2) The arrangements are absolutely high quality. Each song will be modernized in a pleasant way. It sounds fresh and modern, but without touching the core classical case. Tradition and modernity go a harmonious fusion with each other. It is not a 'boot' pulled through, but the arrangements are unique and imaginative. (3) Doris Day intones squeaky clean and above all with true professional clarity and presence, but also the right amount of childhood friends and naive charm, which now belongs to Christmas time to do so. The only big show stars who make a soft Eight board not only because the halt this includes, but where one feels that they have an emotional attachment to what they are singing.
A CD to be fooled. To listen and feel. For emotional being touched and spells. To melancholy and nostalgic swarms.
