The Gira smoke detectors are visually quite appealing and seem a little high. But this criterion is, in my view nice, but when smoke detectors are to save lives in case of doubt, absolutely secondary. And so we come straight to the function.
I deliberately slightly more expensive equipment taken to avoid unnecessary false alarms and to achieve a high functional quality. First I ordered a trial basis 3 Gira smoke detector and matching Magnetolink smoke detector mounting plates. I brought a smoke detector in the living room, one in the utility room and one in the kitchen on the ceiling. If everything works well, I wanted to equip the rest of the house and my office with it. On the second night after installation however, there was already the first false alarm of the detector in the kitchen. Mind you at night. It was not cooked, fried anything, there was no excessive heat generation let alone smoke deposits. This game was repeated next morning again. In the 6th night after assembly then gave the detector in the living room the first false alarm by itself. If I buy technical equipment, I prefer to buy quality and I am ready for it also to pay more. A tight is right "mentality is me in this regard foreign, but these smoke detectors have very example that you can pay a lot of money even for seemingly moderate quality. Three false alarms without any comprehensible reason within one week of purchase / installation are clearly too much for me. I can not recommend buying this device the best of intentions.
