The inspector Pendergast finds himself engaged with solving a difficult puzzle to Medicine Creek, a small Kansas town clueless. Several murders were committed to Indian and horrible ritual, the sheriff and his deputy Hanzen investigate in a climate of increasingly heavy with the multiplicity of bodies and the race from the city to the transgenic corn planting award-saving City economic desolation. Sheriff opposes strange methods Pendergast supported by a newly recruited assistane within the village: Corrie, young idle and rebellious punk who does not lack intelligence. The investigation turns to hunt that turns out excellent and breathless, somewhat reminiscent of that of Relic (Supersitition). An excellent thriller, a little less fantastic than the previous but not least uninteresting.
