Title loyal expectations

Any botanist worthy of the name, in Mediterranean Europe, has to have this title in its library.
This "green guide" is not only a botanical guide also shows the distribution of the plant, the natural use that is made by its environment (birds, animals, natural elements, etc.).

Each sheet, shown on the left by a specific drawing (in black and white line) includes:
- Botanical family updated (with the parentheses (s) mean (s) Historical (s))
- The kind, large print
- French Lappellation large print
- The full species in scientific nomenclature
- Vernacular Appellations in Provence, Languedoc, Catalan, Italian, Spanish, English
- Biological Characters
- Diagnostic Characters
- Geographical distribution (distribution area + the card)
- Autoécologiques data (including a chart combining the trophic gradients and water distribution)
- Biotopes, vegetation, phytosociology
- Uses, properties.

Not to mention determination keys (based on the essential points) at the beginning of each chapter.
A glossary is placed at the beginning of the book, for the recall of all botanical terms and descriptions used.

It is, almost exhaustive book, and almost undisputed reference precise, useful current. It can be taken on the ground but the delicacy of its leaves makes me prefer a more interior use. Although its coverage, flexible resistant plastic protects from moisture.

A valuable tool, waited many years by phytosociologists (botanists, foresters), finally published in 2008, despite the death of Mr. JC Rameau. Congratulations to all the co-authors.
