After I had thoroughly tested the camera before buying and realized the extreme distortions in the long jump and the telephoto end, it took me a few days
to me to be clear if I have the camera as a "permanent notches" should really set beside my SLR, me. The fact that this year probably still some SEL lenses from Sony, Zeiss,
Sigma and Tamron will come on the market and the imaging performance is otherwise classified as mostly good, submitted as a reason the Nex then yet available for purchase.
For camera:
The case is like the whole top processing. The shoe mount does what it should, albeit processed very easily. The display can not be high-resolution and also the folding function is very useful now and again (what I would not miss on a SLR.) As already mentioned frequently, the operation is a bit unusual. Two more three buttons have designed the whole thing a little easier. Since the camera is not a SLR replacement, but one certainly comes very clearly with the overall size and feel.
I made several photos with different aperture, shutter speed, focal length and ISO and was able to determine at any marginal landscapes distortions, nor any blurring at the edges! It kept everything under. Chromatic aberrations (color fringing) were then even more visible, but this is bearable. The sharpness is down extremely well in almost all photos.
I would even partially rather use the word "over-sharpened", what probably the JPEG Engines are responsible.
For buildings or architectural photography but the distortion is then but quite clearly. As I said, the etc. does not fall in portrait, landscape but in the city all the more.
In contrast, you can only work with Photoshop or software PTLense, waiting for a firmware update or provide new lenses. One should hold but that the 18-55mm kit lens is only one, which one neither prices- nor can tear and should. The noise performance of the camera at higher sensitivities really can, however, see. Even images with ISO1600 are still amazingly low noise.
The video function is also satisfactory for a digicam. Sound and image are perfectly adequate. It should also be noted that hardly a digital camera to a professional camcorder zoom is what the Nex but dissolves well. The other gadgets (HDR, Panorama) are self-explanatory, function and make the Nex also a good (second) camera.
Better lenses will come, although the 18-55mm for a start is enough.
The Nex but is not a SLR replacement, rather a good all-round solution to better security with pictures than some other small digicam.
