First of all: the game perfectly seen from the pricing policy would be isolated 4/5 stars for me. But if you can look at the price in relation to the maximum is commanded 2/5 stars are given. I give 1/5 to the whole 5 star to press reviews. Why am I doing this? "Is that not childish?" The answer below.
The Game
It's really what ago. If, like me, has been around for MGS1 this (the Metal Gear games in 1980 were a little before my time) then the graphical progress is immense. Even with MGS 4 we got a great graphics for its time. Whether MGS4 has fallen or not is another issue (not me).
The game was developed further and so there are changes that sometimes belching something amiss. For example, no rations, I (the prequel) not found boxes in which you can hide, there was no codec conversations that I have always enjoyed. The typical PLING if one was seen also missing. Perhaps you can add off the free spins and later - I hope so.
The story is typical Kojima. Well staged, great tells exciting cliffhanger.
One of the negative points of this 'Prologue' is to build. Kojima affirmed 100 times that he brings this game so out with it in the universe and the story we can ever make friends.
Did I miss something? OpenWorld? Was completely nil here. They had a completely isolated area like for example MGS: Snake Eater times (grand game). This need not be bad, but when you consider that just this reason, the prologue is because you feel betrayed something. The story - which is supposed to be so crude as that Kojima believes the customers one year to prepare and digest having to give up the experienced - is not much insight. MGS veterans know the timeline, the characters and be able to arrive quickly. This requires no prologue. MGS newcomers are left entirely to dark Who 'The Boss' is, who is Paz, etc and so on. There is also not needed this prologue.
Now the new spokesperson role of Snake. What I was disappointed when I found out. that David Hayter is no longer on board. I hoped a feint of Kojima. A stroke of genius reveals itself. But no, it was serious. They want to bring to the MGS 'next level'. Is it successful? Yes and no. Kiefer Sutherland (Jack Bauer in "24", "Mirrors") does its job well. And he will make it even better in Phantom Pain. Nevertheless you just missed David Hayter. I have never doubted in MGS1-3 about the credibility of Snake. The Synchro has (thanks habit) fitted as chalk and cheese. David Hayter IS Snake. Can pine occupy this space? No. Never. Nevertheless, I hope I'll get used to it.
Then comes the end. Suddenly MGS is over. And suddenly I mean absolutely abruptly. Out of nowhere. Like a slap in the face. You sit in front of the TV silence surprised and is not sure whether this is the end. So surprised by a completely sudden end, I was the last time of the Hurricane Festival 2013 in Queens of the Stoneage) (was much too early just go away and all were still 15 minutes before the stage because they have hoped in disbelief that this is a bad joke was) but as at the festival that was no joke here. It was over. Finito.
Playing time is - if one takes his time - 70 !!! Minutes. If one takes care of everything and the bonus missions makes (15 minutes a) we have a maximum of 100 minutes.
The oh-so-great replayability? I do not see. Perhaps again without being seen. Maybe once all massacred on the base. Speedrun traverse (current record for the play through the prologue are 6 - in figures SIX -. Minutes)
All this would not be tragic and happy worth 4 stars if it would have been a free gifts for example, Castlevania 2 - as it was for a while once common. Or as a download for 5 Euro. A maximum of 10 Euro.
But the hammer is now: you want 30 - have Euro - in numbers thirty. Before there were still 40 Euro MSRP.
Ticking still right?
And now the reason why no more than 1 star is here it for me:
This trend may not continue. The currently commercial success of this rip-off must not be rewarded.
"But the game offers but a sooo high replay value" - even if that were so, there is no excuse for a 70-minutes of play for 30 Euro for sale.
"But the story is so complex because you have to first of all pure, see" - even if it were not for 30 euros!
There are many good games Indi cost 15 euros and tie me 5 hours in the screen. Some full-price titles for the PC cost 40 euros and tie me (keyword Borderlands 2) 100 hours on the PC.
I'll say it here very clearly: If the other publishers got wind of it, that they can sell their demos for 30 Euro (and EA knows it already) then the trend will continue. In the future, ie several demos for 30 euros sold.
"But it forces you but no one to buy it !!" - That's right. I have not either. I borrowed it. Just fine.
But the problem that many do not see: This will have implications for the future. Back when the crap started with the game Micro payments have all said, "Yes, but it forces you but no"
And where we are now? Some full-price title (Forza * cough *) hardly function without micropayments. This DLC delusion - "but it forces you but no one" - so just pay a full price title and it be me already on the CD supplied game content denied because I only need to purchase a key for it.
People quite clearly: Each of something support affects the gaming community a lasting negative.
The Publisher always unplug krummere things that fans can buy it - partly out of frustration because they do not want to give up the content - and at some point it becomes a habit and a 60 Euro game costs 120 euros. Then drops many just not on because they buy the content on quasi 'rates' for.
So: Hands off! If you are waiting so eagerly: it borrows you!
