The design of the M8 is very fluent and I think is very elegant.
But design does not do everything, so I put more emphasis on the inner values.
Starting with the packaging.
Simple, simple, short, short, good. (In Apple style, I would say)
HTC puts beside the M8 a charging cable, like all other manufacturers also common in parts 2.
USB cable for charging with the included adapter, or on computers.
Furthermore, there are also headphones with (not beat) the packaging.
Lie with matching ear plugs to headphones.
Since I'm not using the headphones, I can not say this too.
A clip to open the SIM bay and some accompanying note (warranty, instructions, etc.) are also still in the packaging.
As a crowning highlight an Original Rubber case was still in the process.
SIM card in and off you go.
After initial installation, one could admire this beauty to the fullest.
The display shines bright, vivid and colorful. Even with hocher sunlight you can read everything very well.
The camera is in my opinion the madness, HTC shows that it does not depend on the MegaPixel.
The camera shoots the day and at night brilliant photos which I have not seen in any other smartphone so. Especially in the evening or at night, the advantages of the camera appear. Clear, not rushing, bright photos.
Another feature that I currently only know the M8 is the 360 View. This feature allows one to capture a true 360 panoramic view on his cell phone.
Similarly, the panorama function of other devices. Add to that a looker, once you round in circles and a people ask what you're doing.
The front camera shoots perfect Selfies. (5MP front camera as is currently I think no other cell phone)
The special features such as subsequently change the depth of field or the 3D effect are nice features, but nothing more.
As a little counterpoint, zoom is prohibited in this camera, otherwise lose their glamor photos very quickly.
The software is very well suited my opinion to the device. Android under, one still has enough setup and customization options Despite HTC Sense.
Stuttering or loading times for menu and the same, I could not find.
WLAN, GPS, Bluetooth, and IR function without restrictions (other users complain that WLAN and BT at the same time cause problems).
Thanks to the built-in IR sensor, I have all my remotes home banished to the charge by serving everything only with my M8.
HTC's Blink Feed I use itself is not (disabled), because I do not need overstimulation to information when I unlock my M8.
For me much is the battery life and this suggests the M8 all records.
I can do it, in normal use to manage two days without power.
Anticipation, WLAN and GPS as well as mobile data are always active with me, I have to save any limitations to battery here.
To my usage, I am much more in FB and write mails and the remote control function.
The extreme power saving mode the HTC offering I find to be quite useless, because the turns on me with 5% battery and since then I can do no more than without the mode, namely exactly 3-4 hours of inactivity on your phone.
The built-in speakers provide a comfortable listening level, do not sound bad for a smartphone and are well suited to the calling.
The microSD slot allows much space for little money to get.
The beliegende Rubber case turned out to be not really useful because it tear at certain points.
Alternative offers here the dot-view Case with but which almost 30 suggests good book.
In my opinion, the on / Entsperr- button is located on top of the phone, installed incorrectly, this is one with such a size of the page in order to simplify the operation with one hand.
In summary:
Pro:
+ Design
+ Camera functions
+ Battery life
+ Remote
+ Software
Contraindications:
- Power button
- Very sensitive back
- Camera
Inspite of small problems, recommended.
As a recent comparison iPhone 5 and Galaxy S4 served me Active
Update: From one day to the other got the camera lens quite a lot of small scratches, the pictures looked milky. HTC Support knew no advice, saying sending.
Google knew the problem already. It removes the small scratches with a best in alcohol or acetone (I took alcohol) soaked swab and wipes a few times over the lens, only a coating that dissolves under unknown Umsänden itself. After the lens is again free of any scratches.
