I use it for running at night on country roads. As I run barefoot, I just want to see where I put the feet. If you do not see quite as bright as day, it is mainly because the light source is right next to our eyes, reducing shadows and perception terrain. Nao is powerful enough, however, we really see all the colors, giving a very good "made".
Compared to other headlamps, the Nao is quite large and heavy, but so far this has not been a problem for me. The strap system is well designed and properly fitted, holds well on the head.
I can not comment on battery life and I have not tried the computer customization functions.
Update after a winter use:
The batteries have a decent life, but it is best to monitor the charge level before every ride. Given the power of the lamp, it is hardly surprising. For very long night outs, beyond two hours, it would probably have a spare battery.
The response system (lamp measures the reflected light and adjusts power based) is frankly instantly. We looked up to see the distance and seen triple power beam. It is also an important factor in the life of the battery. At the same time we are not dazzled when you look closely. It is not at all like gadget functionality.
