With an aperture of 2.8, Tokina created an ultra light ultra wide angle. To my knowledge, it is cheaper and more efficient than the Nikkor competitor. Check the site for its KenRockwell test. The optical quality is (aspherical) and all looks rather robust. The result is really interesting pictures, especially thanks to its minimum of development is very short. Contrary to what one might think, this can give really big plans and original portraits! The race of the zoom is a little short (focal range), but anyway, we will use most of the time its focal length 11mm. This is not a problem in itself. Tested on a D80 and I know someone who bought it for his advice on my D90. I really recommend it to anyone with a housing with integrated motor for autofocus. By cons, owners of a D60 (or D40) should be wary because the autofocus will not operate. The goal is not compatible with analog and digital devices with a full-frame sensor (24x36).
