uncomplicated hub with many ports

This AVANTEK 7-Port USB 3.0 Hub has provided me with free available for testing. Included is the Hub, a power supply and a USB 3.0 cable. On a manual will be omitted. That's fine too, because the hub of the major operating systems does not require any drivers. On the carton specifications in English and some safety instructions in English, French and German are given.

The stroke looks appealing, is non-slip rubber feet to 4, measures 17,4x7,6x2,3 cm and weighs 156 g. It requires Vista really no drivers and operation absolutely the AC adapter. USB 1.1, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 devices are detected and can be operated without any problems. If the device is connected to the PC, a blue signal LED above the hub input.

The power supply provides 2.5 A at 12 V, which makes 30W. So be on the USB side 20W available. So you should think carefully if you want to use the hub as a charger. I have a 7-port charger with 60W - and that's not spacious enough! For use as a hub of the AC adapter, however, is sufficient.

Both the USB cable with 1m and the 12V cable is a bit short with 1,2m. On my desktop the movement space is very limited.

Conclusion:
