So my external, used for data backup hard drive is not powered day and night, I have interposed this hub. The device, which is connected using the supplied USB cable to 2 USB ports on the PC works properly. The power supply is - despite missing or not provided for power supply - perfectly adequate. With 7 top-mounted on the stroke pushbuttons each port are activated. In addition to the pushbuttons indicate blue LEDs on the active ports.
