My Opinion:
Aria lives in a sheltered world. No one needs to be more concerned about diseases and can make at any time take refuge in so-called realms, because the space in reverie, as the "City" is called, is limited. These Realms (virtual worlds) are more perfect than the reality, in which everything is possible. But after Aria is caught in a forbidden foray into the outside world in search of her mother, she is summarily exposed in the wilderness. There they met with Perry, who belongs to a tribe from birth in the wild and so has some extraordinary gift. But not only Aria needs the help of Perry, to survive, he has to rely on them. After the kidnapping of his nephew, which he blames himself, he is driven by his brother from the trunk and sets out to search for his nephew. But only Aria can help him as a citizen of Reverie, to find the boy.
Aria is from the outset different from the typical girl from dystopias. It is not blind to the system in which they live and when they can not contact more with her mother, she tries to find out what happened. By that I do not want to say that Aria from the outset Reverie and their world is bad or even rebelling, but she's not naive or stupid. Makes you figure out the events and combined. Especially in the outside world realize how it is evolving, is getting stronger and gradually learns more. Because it is by no means perfect. So it has to start the story particularly prejudices about the people who live in the wilderness.
Even Perry pulled me quickly in his spell. His special ability to better hearing and seeing, makes him exceptionally from the beginning, even if living in the outside world a lot of people with such a capability. As Perry in this rather cruel world with his nephew Talon bypasses and would do anything for him, is impressive. Just as he Aria tries to help when he does not even know. However, he also has a lot of prejudice at the start and develops during the story.
Not only because of the characters is this dystopia particularly. The world created Veronica Rossi is outstanding. So there are in her novel at least two different social systems. Reverie is highly technically equipped and titled as "better than reality", while prevail almost Stone Age cultures in the outside world. And then there's the areas belonging to Reverie, but the system here is different.
In addition, the author of the dystopia has also added a few Fantasy similar ideas. To live in the outside world people like Perry, possess extraordinary abilities.
The plot is often very exciting, so you mitfiebert with Aria and Perry. And even if the two do not permanently at risk of dying, it is not boring. Especially the interaction and conversations among the characters are very interesting here. Not get along very well especially as Aria and Perry by many prejudices first together and it so often leads to quarrels, etc. between the two.
The writing style of Veronica Rossi makes it a very easy dive into the story and empathize with Aria and Perry.
My Conclusion:
For those who want to read again an exceptional dystopia, I can only recommend the book. It is varied and comes up with new ideas and amazing characters on. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the second volume. This is by the way called "Through the Evernight" and the German "transmissions - through eternal night."
