The Wildfire S has a sophisticated, is very well made and the materials used to leave a very good impression. The flat and small case my wife liked very well. Commissioning worked without any problems. The latest version of HTC Sense installed automatically and also without problems. The extensive individualization possibility of surprised me as iPhone users positively. Within a few days the unit was set to the individual requirements and downloaded and installed several apps from the Android Market. As I had known that the internal memory of the device is tight, I had taken from the outset meticulously to ensure that as all apps have been moved to the installed 8GB SanDisk SD Micro card. This worked by means of the built-in function also very good. Unfortunately, I received when downloading the Kindle app (Amazon) from the Android Market, the error message that there is insufficient memory would be available on the device. Were on the SD card for about 3,7GB free. I vesuchte again to move apps to the memory card as well as by deleting apps which were in the cache, generating additional resources. For this I used the program "Advanced Task Killer". But unfortunately did not have the desired effect. The installation of the Kindle app and other apps from the Android Market was no longer possible. That was the first defect in the device, which revealed itself after a few days.
The second shortcoming relates to the synchronization of Outlook Calendar (v. 2010) via the PC software HTC Sync. The calendar has not been updated on the HTC Wildfire S. Diverse settings have been applied but unfortunately without success.
The third deficiency, which occurred irregularly, was the poor performance. Repeatedly jerked the display during operation. A liquid use was often not possible.
The fourth deficiency refers back to HTC Sync. Again and again recognized the program is not the inserted SD Micro card. Thus, no synchronization of music was possible.
Fifth defect: the battery does not have sufficient capacity. With heavy use, he has already sucked dry after two to three hours. In normal use, however, it lasts for about one day. The charging period is high.
Conclusion: Android 2.3.5 and HTC Sense 2.1 overall well-liked, but not on the HTC Wildfire S. The user experience has not been set. Apparently the hardware of the Wildfire S is the requirements of Android 2.3.5 and HTC Sense 2.1 is not grown, and / or the software is faulty.
