Unfortunately, smooth leather, but still excellent book!

Nevertheless, the book is of excellent craftsmanship and quality, and gives a very sophisticated look.

The sides have a yellowish tinge which the overall impression - it would be a very old book - very underscores.

The paper can be with pen, pencil, gel rollers and even a rollerball pen (with black refill LAMY Swift) describe perfectly without showing through the inks in rollerball. It should be possible so to try writing the paper with a fountain pen.

I use it as a diary and can also highly recommend this book!

Addendum: It is possible to describe the pages with a fountain pen, I have tried it and with a Lamy Safari (spring M). a Lamy Cp1 (FE spring) where I as a much better feel and therefore recommend to write with a rollerball in this book.
