The remote control is plastic that looks pretty solid, and is powered by two rechargeable standards and, when the load is hanging, we can start on a new battery, which is very convenient. An ingenious system standby (off of the screen and keyboard) and automatic standby output as soon as one touches the remote control allows to have a very good shelf load.
Activity One: Configure the machine. Everything is done via a computer. Little apprehensive, I am equipped in Mac but Logitech has planned the coup by a Mac OS version of its tool. The software is compatible with Mac OS from version 10.3, Intel and PPC processors. Very good! At least, very well until we launch the software: it is relatively easy to configure equipment and minimum macros, but it's really tedious ... The wizard is unfortunately not better designed. Equipment that gave me the wire retorde is precisely the iMac to play music: instead of launching FrontRow, remote control persists in launch iTunes ... After spending some time in configure / disconnect / test / use the wizard on the remote embedded ultimately it works! You must configure the remote control to start the computer with the menu button, not the default button Play ...
Anyway, use everyday, it's really very convenient. The activity system allows to switch all the necessary equipment, and turn off all other unused, while launching the necessary configurations (including inputs). It's already happened to misfire (lack equipment that remains off), but it remains relatively rare, and the embedded wizard on the remote system always solves the problem. It is also possible to have access to specific functions for each remote control independently, and in this case, the screen is really necessary and makes the operation very fluid.
Ultimately, I control a LG TV, BluRay player Panasonic, an iMac, an Orange TV decoder and even a PS2 (!) And everything is very well recognized and cohabits! I put a 4/5 because in the end it's still a good product that recognizes a lot of very diverse equipment (even home automation equipment!). I do not put the maximum score because of the very tedious software (we are happy to forget it once everything works because it rarely returns reconfigure every 5 minutes) and also because the remote control is limited to 6 equipment, sufficient for a home cinema, but do not hope to control the whole house with!
